Predefined colors and styles

CoverFlow provides a variety of predefined themes to let you quickly set the overall appearance of the control. This feature automatically configures the base color of slideshow buttons, scrollbars, and other control panel objects. In Expression Blend, you can even customize the color with several properties to create your own custom color theme.

Customizable visuals and layout

More than a visually stunning multimedia viewer for your web applications, CoverFlow is customizable at a granular level. Configure nearly every layout element to suit your needs.

Background modes

CoverFlow supports three background modes: Simple, Image, and Custom Image. In Simple Mode, you may resize the background and fill with solid colors or gradients. In Image Mode, your custom images are available for the background. Custom Image Mode offers more advanced control, template creation the ability to attach templates to CoverFlow’s background container.

Content Template and Reflection Template

This powerful new feature enables you to use a custom template object as the content of CoverFlow’s item and its reflection. Simply create the template object and specify the ItemTemplate and/or Reflection Template property in the Item object. CoverFlow will automatically recognize the specified Template item and use it as its content.

Customizable startup position

CoverFlow gives you the freedom to determine which item you would like to show initially. You can set it to show the first, last, or middle item, or set it to a specific item index value.

Total preview items

Preview items are located on both left and right side of the current focused item. Set the number of preview items to what best suits your application, or set it to 0 to hide the previous and next CoverFlow items entirely.

Configure layout mode and cover size

Control the size of the cover to fit the needs of your application. Simply set the layout mode to manual and set the CoverSize property. Turn on automatic layout mode for automatic cover size calculation to fill the cover flow item area.
